Chengsong Zhang 张诚松

I obtained my MSCS degree from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in May 2025. I got my BSE, CSE degree from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and BSE, ECE degree from UM-SJTU Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, both in August 2023.

I am generally interested in visual generation. I am currently working on Systems for Diffusion Transformers (DiT). My advisor is Fan Lai.

Previously, I was a freelance code contributor to open-source image / video generation community. My major contributions are Segment Anything and AnimateDiff extension for Stable Diffusion WebUI. I also contributed to some other systems based on university assistantship. Such contributions mainly lie in database (AIDB & DuckDB) and federated learning systems (FedScale).

During my spare time, I enjoy Japanese Anime, guitar fingerstyle and traveling in nature spots. You can get a full list of all the TV anime series I watched from bangumi (CN). I also hang around by bus, especially double-deck buses and rural buses. I occasionally feed butterflies, especially Kallima Inachus.
